Jose Mourinho’s AS Roma want Real Madrid defender

Real Madrid have a few players in their squad who do not seem to have any future in Carlo Ancelotti’s team. As a result, it might be the best path forward for both parties to part ways as soon as possible. One such player is Alvaro Odriozola, who is yet to play a single minute of football this season.

Odriozola was very highly rated during his time at Real Sociedad but has seen his career go off track after his move to Real Madrid. His loan spell at Bayern Munich was not much better either. He did have a decent time at Fiorentina though and it looks like it is in Italy that his future lies.

Juventus have already been linked with a move for Odriozola in recent months. And now, as reported by Mundo Deportivo, another Italian team has joined the race to sign him: Jose Mourinho’s AS Roma.

Rick Karsdorp is expected to leave AS Roma soon and it looks like Odriozola is on the list of candidates to replace him in Mourinho’s squad.

Odriozola leaving the club might be the best step forward for all parties involved. It just does not look like he will be getting any significant playing time at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Dani Carvajal is the starter for Real Madrid at right-back and he is covered there by Lucas Vazquez. And while the club could definitely do with a bit more youth in the position, Odriozola does not look like the player that Ancelotti is counting on to provide that.

Let’s see what the future holds for him but it does not feel like he will continue to wear the royal white jersey for much longer. Will he end up at AS Roma, Juventus or somewhere else? Only time shall tell.
