Real Madrid find themselves in a bizarre position where they have the current Ballon d’Or holder in their squad in Karim Benzema and still need to bring in another striker. The biggest reason for that is the fact that the Frenchman has struggled badly with fitness issues in recent times and with him set to turn 35 years of age, one has to wonder whether his best days on the pitch are now coming to an end.

On the other hand, Real Madrid do not really have a back up option to Benzema, with Mariano Diaz pretty much out of Carlo Ancelotti’s plans and expected to leave at the end of this season when his contract runs out.

Rodrygo has been converted into a forward in the absence of Benzema but that does not feel like a long-term solution by any means. The club might have one in their minds though.

As reported by SPORT, Real Madrid are closely following the World Cup and analysing players who theoretically fit into their philosophy. One of the players they like is Harry Kane.

Incredible Kane to Real Madrid transfer update

Kane has been one of the top strikers in the world for many years now. But he has not been able to win trophies at Tottenham Hotspur.

Thus, Kane could be looking for a change in scenery soon. He was heavily linked with a move from the club a couple of summers back and could try again in the near future.

His current deal with Tottenham Hotspur is believed to run out in the summer of 2024, which means that he will only have one year left on his contract at the end of this season.

As a result, it might be a great opportunity to sign one of the best strikers in the world, who should theoretically still have three to four years of his prime left.
