Real Madrid have been linked with a number of big names in recent times as it looks like the club could be preparing for major moves in the near future. Los Blancos have been relatively quiet when it comes to making big signings in recent years as they have moved away from their Galactico policy of the past.

That does not mean that the club do not still attract some of the biggest names in the game though. David Alaba and Antonio Rudiger are just two examples, former Champions League winners who have moved to Real Madrid on free transfers.

Now, the club are being linked with a potential move for Manchester United superstar, Bruno Fernandes, who is shining at the World Cup for the Portugal national team as well.

As reported by Record (via Sport Witness), Real Madrid had been interested in Fernandes since his time at Sporting CP, and the European champions could ‘soon be back’ for him. The Portuguese international is believed to be satisfied at Manchester United but ‘doesn’t close the door to a step forward’ in the future.

Fernandes had taken the Premier League by storm upon his arrival and was putting up some historic numbers for the Red Devils, and breaking a few all-time records. It is undeniable though that his form has taken a dip over the past season-and-a-half. But he has looked like his former self at the ongoing World Cup.

This is not the first time that Real Madrid are being linked with a potential move for Fernandes and let’s see if it leads anywhere this time around.

According to stats from Transfermarkt, Fernandes has scored 3 goals and provided 3 assists in 20 appearances across all competitions this season. Those are not staggering numbers, but there is no question about his overall quality.
