Real Madrid need to make an addition at right-back in the near future. Dani Carvajal is the starter there but he is 30 years of age and questions have been raised about his recent performances. On the other hand, Lucas Vazquez serves as his back up option and he is even older. And while Alvaro Odriozola was brought in with hopes of him being the long-term option there, it is clear that that is not going to work out and he is expected to be on his way out with AS Roma and Juventus linked.

Real Madrid have been linked with a few right-backs in recent times. They have ranged from Chelsea veteran, Cesar Azpilicueta, to Bayer Leverkusen youngster, Jeremie Frimpong.

A combination of youth and experience is what Real Madrid might need in the position at this point of time though. And in that regard, there are very few options better than Denzel Dumfries.

At 26 years of age, Dumfries is yet to enter his prime as a footballer. On the other hand, he already has the experience of playing for a club like Inter Milan as well as the Netherlands national team.

Real Madrid should try to sign Inter Milan right-back

Dumfries first caught the eye of Europe during his incredible UEFA EURO 2020 campaign representing the Netherlands, and that eventually earned him a move to Inter Milan.

There, he has established himself as a starter. And at the World Cup, he is once again showing what he is capable of in the Orange shirt. He put in two assists and scored a goal against the United States to book the Netherlands’ place in the quarter-final of the World Cup.

Of course, there are flaws in Dumfries’ game as well, as he is not the best when it comes to the defensive side of things. But when it comes to going forward, there are very few right-backs on the planet, who can keep up with his effectiveness.
