Real Madrid have built up quite the reputation in recent years of signing the best wonderkids from Brazil and developing them into superstars at Santiago Bernabeu. The two best success stories of this policy are Vinicius Jr and Rodrygo, both of whom arrived as teenagers and have gone on to establish themselves in Carlo Ancelotti’s starting XI.

Vinicius even finished in the Ballon d’Or top 10 and scored the Champions League-winning goal vs Liverpool. On the other hand, Rodrygo is having his breakout campaign this season and proving what he can bring to the table. The Brazilian duo can be a part of Real Madrid’s starting XI for years to come.

On the other hand, it looks like Real Madrid already have their eyes on discovering the next big thing in Brazilian football, and one of the players that they seem to be following is Andrey Santos of Vasco da Gama.

Santos is believed to be closing in on a move to Chelsea. But as reported by Defensa Central (via football.london), he is now on the radar of European champions Real Madrid.

Santos is a midfielder and just 18 years of age, but he has already impressed immensely for the Vasco da Gama senior team, who played in the second division of Brazilian football in 2022.

Santos’ performances seem to have caught the eye of the biggest clubs in Europe. Other than Chelsea and Real Madrid, the likes of PSG, Manchester City and Newcastle United are rumoured to hold an interest in the player as well.

It is believed that it would take a transfer fee around €15 million to sign him from Vasco da Gama. And while Stamford Bridge seems like his most likely destination, let’s see if things change.
