Josko Gvardiol hands transfer boost to Real Madrid
One of the standout performers of the World Cup has been Josko Gvardiol. He has been a rock at the back for the Croatia national team, as they have conceded just two goals in four games till now and booked their place in the last 8 of the competition where they will be taking on Brazil. Considering how good the centre-back has been, it should come as no surprise that he is being linked with a move to Real Madrid.
Gvardiol currently plays for RB Leipzig in the Bundesliga and has been very highly rated for a long time now. He is still just 20 years of age but his abilities are beyond his years.
Chelsea have been heavily linked with a move for him since last summer. The Blues are rumoured to have gotten a deal for Christopher Nkunku over the line already and could turn their attention towards his RB Leipzig teammate now.
But Gvardiol’s recent comments about Real Madrid are certainly very interesting. As reported by Relevo (via GOAL), the Croatian star said:
"“Real Madrid is the biggest club in the world, so who knows… maybe one day I can play there. I would like to, yes.”"
Gvardiol has handed a transfer boost to Real Madrid
Thus, it looks like Gvardiol is very open to the idea of a move to Real Madrid one day, describing it as the ‘biggest club in the world’.
Of course, if he wants to know anything about the club, he has a certain Luka Modric as his international teammate. And it is safe to say that the midfielder has got to enjoy quite a bit of success in a Real Madrid shirt.
It remains to be seen if Real Madrid do end up making a move for Gvardiol in the future or not. It is also worth remembering that RB Leipzig would surely want a huge transfer fee to part ways with their star man and would Los Blancos be willing to shell that out?
