Real Madrid have been linked with a long list of players over the past several months, as it has become clear that Los Blancos need to make additions in the future. On one hand, they do not have great squad depth at this point of time. On the other, there are a number of players whose current deals run out at the end of the season and they could be on their way out.

One particular position of need is striker. Karim Benzema has struggled to remain fit this season and at 35 years of age, he cannot be expected to be Real Madrid’s main man for much longer. On the other hand, Mariano Diaz has barely featured and his contract runs out at the end of this campaign. The club have no other recognised forward in their squad, which has led to Rodrygo being converted into a false nine.

Out of all the names that Real Madrid have been linked with in recent times, it does feel like they hold the most interest in Endrick of Palmeiras. And it appears that they have taken positive steps in their quest to sign him.

As tweeted out by Fabrizio Romano, Real Madrid are now leading the race to sign Endrick. Official negotiations are ongoing with Palmeiras on €60 million transfer fee, including add-ons. PSG & Chelsea remain in the race but Los Blancos are ahead.

Real Madrid are now leading the race for the Brazilian wonderkid

It goes without saying that Endrick is the most in-demand youngster in all of football right now with clubs like Real Madrid, PSG and Chelsea after him.

And while earlier rumours had suggested that PSG and Chelsea were more advanced in the race to sign Endrick, now it looks like Real Madrid have taken the lead.

It could take a transfer fee in the range of €60 million to sign Endrick from Palmeiras, which is huge for a 16-year-old with just 3 senior goals to his name till now. But taking into account that he is considered as the biggest talent to come out of Brazilian football since Neymar and has already earned comparisons with Ronaldo Nazario, the risk might be worth it.
