When Real Madrid really want a player, more often than not they end up getting them. That seems to be on the verge of being proven true once again, as Los Blancos appear to be close to winning the race for Endrick, the Brazilian wonderkid who is arguably the most in-demand talent in all of football right now.

Over the past few weeks, rumours had suggested that PSG and Chelsea were ahead in the race to sign Endrick. But now, it appears that Real Madrid have swooped in and are close to getting a deal over the line.

As reported by UOL Esporte (via Tribuna), Real Madrid have reached a verbal agreement with Palmeiras to sign Endrick. The complete deal will cost Los Blancos up to €70 million when taxes, bonuses and the sign-on fee are considered.

Thus, it is safe to say that that is a huge amount of money to shell out for someone who is just 16 years of age, has played only seven games of senior football and scored just three goals at the top level.

It goes without saying that if Real Madrid do end up signing Endrick, there would be an element of risk involved in the move without a shadow of a doubt.

Not only is he just 16 years of age, but he won’t even be able to move to the Spanish capital before the summer of 2024. After that, it will be about how he adjusts to the European game.

But then, considering the fact that he is being considered as the biggest talent to come out of Brazilian football since a certain Neymar Jr and has already earned comparisons with Ronaldo Nazario, the risk might very well be worth it.
