Real Madrid could certainly do with a striker in the near future. Karim Benzema has been one of the pillars of this club for more than a decade. But the fact of the matter is that he is set to turn 35 years of age very soon and has been struggling with injuries this season. Thus, Los Blancos need to keep an eye on his successor as well. One of the players that they have been linked with is Richarlison.
Richarlison made a name for himself at Everton before moving to Tottenham Hotspur in the summer. He is currently starring for Brazil at the World Cup as well and is their first-choice striker as of now.
Carlo Ancelotti will of course know Richarlison very well from his own time managing Everton, and it looks like the Real Madrid boss rates the Brazilian striker amongst the best around at the moment.
As reported by GOAL, Ancelotti told Corriere dello Sport about Richarlison:
"“He is a modern striker, complete, not so accurate with the ball at his feet, but his late runs are extraordinary and he is very coordinated. He is not a giant but is a great header. It’s not the typical Brazilian striker but is among the best out there.”"
Ancelotti makes brilliant claim about Richarlison amidst links with Real Madrid
There is no doubt that Richarlison is a top striker and his recent performances for the Brazil national team have proven that, as the South American powerhouse look for their 6th World Cup title.
Considering Real Madrid’s need for a striker at this point of time, it would not be a surprise if the name of Richarlison has been discussed by the club as a potential option.
If Real Madrid are able to sign someone like Richarlison in the future, it would be a major coup for the club. It will not be easy though considering it was just in the summer that he ended up joining Tottenham Hotspur.
Interestingly, even though it feels like Richarlison has been around for a long time, he is still in fact just 25 years of age and has plenty of time on his hands to establish himself as one of the best in the game.
