The name of Rafael Leao is on the lips of football fans all over the planet. The forward has impressed immensely in the colours of AC Milan in recent times and has made his presence felt at the World Cup as well for the Portugal national team. Thus, it would not be a surprise to see him get a big move in the near future, with his current deal running out in the summer of 2024, and one of the clubs to be heavily linked with him is Real Madrid.

Real Madrid could certainly do with some more options in their forward areas, with Karim Benzema getting up there in age and struggling with his fitness in recent times. On the other hand, the futures of Mariano Diaz, Marco Asensio and Eden Hazard are up in the air as well.

Thus, if the club were able to bring in a talent like Leao, that would go a long way in securing their future up top for quite some time. Yet, it does not seem like that is what they want to do.

As reported by Marca, Leao is a player whose name has been put on the table on many occasions by his agent, Jorge Mendes. But Real Madrid do not seem to be interested in a move at this point of time.

Real Madrid are not interested in a move for Leao in January

For a while, it has been rumoured that Real Madrid would not be making any additions to their squad in January. And despite seeing their side struggle in the games leading up to the World Cup break, it looks like they might stick to that.

On the other hand, it would take a transfer fee close to €100 million, or perhaps even more after the World Cup he is having, to sign someone like Leao.

Real Madrid are being active though, and seem to be very close to getting a deal over the line to bring Endrick to Santiago Bernabeu in 2024.
