Real Madrid’s transfer record over the past few years has been superb, which is one of the biggest reasons why despite not being heavy spenders, the club have remained one of the best in Europe throughout this period of time. Naturally though, there have been some moves which have not worked out. And the biggest glaring error on the part of Los Blancos has been their decision to shatter their record in order to sign Eden Hazard from Chelsea.
Back then, the move did make sense though. Over his seven years at Stamford Bridge, Hazard had established himself as one of the all-time greats at Chelsea and a bona fide Premier League legend.
Things have gone south for him since moving to the Spanish capital though, as he has struggled with one injury after another and barely played over the past three-and-a-half seasons.
This World Cup was viewed as his last chance to show that he was still a world-class player, but it turned out to be a bitter disappointment instead. Belgium were knocked out from the group stages and Hazard was dropped in the all-important final group game against Croatia, only brought on in the last few minutes of the game.
Inter Milan could offer escape route to struggling Real Madrid star
It might be time for Real Madrid and Hazard to part ways, if not now then next summer. And Inter Milan could provide him with a possible escape route.
As reported by MarcoBarzaghi.com, Inter Milan are looking for a player with his characteristics and might be open to bringing in someone of Hazard’s experience to the club.
For that to happen, Hazard will have to reduce his wages though as Inter Milan will not be able to match the astronomical figure that he currently gets at Real Madrid.
