Real Madrid have been linked with quite a few Manchester United players in recent times. Some of them are Bruno Fernandes, Diogo Dalot and Alejandro Garnacho. One name that has done the rounds of the rumour mill for some years now though is that of Marcus Rashford. And it looks like the Englishman’s long-term future at Old Trafford is in doubt.

Rashford’s current deal at Manchester United runs out at the end of this season and the club have the option of extending it by another year. But if he does not end up extending his contract, then the Red Devils will have to start thinking about finding him a new home next summer after taking up the one-year option.

As reported by the Daily Star, Manchester United fear they will be forced to let Rashford leave next summer. The club have put a new deal on the table for him but the Englishman is yet to sign it. And if he does not put pen to paper, then the Red Devils are expected to listen to transfer offers in the region of £80 million.

Real Madrid are believed to have been following Rashford, as he has enjoyed a great start to the season and impressed at the World Cup as well.

Rashford had to go through a terrible 2021/22 campaign but has looked like a player transformed under the management of Erik ten Hag.

According to stats from Transfermarkt, he has scored 8 goals and provided 3 assists in 19 appearances for Manchester United this season till now.

That kind of form surely must have caught the attention of clubs around Europe, especially with his contract running down.

Of course, the entire situation depends on whether Rashford signs a contract extension or not. It could open up the opportunity for Real Madrid to make a move but it is hard to see them shelling out that kind of a transfer fee on the Englishman.
