Real Madrid have made Cody Gakpo transfer decision
Cody Gakpo has been one of the revelations of the 2022 World Cup. He has been performing at a very high level for PSV for quite some time now and been linked with some of the top clubs in Europe, including Real Madrid, but there were question marks about whether he could perform at the very top level. Well, he answered all those questions, by scoring in all three of the group stage games.
Netherlands might have only been able to make it to the last 8 of the competition but Gakpo certainly had a tournament to remember. According to stats from Transfermarkt, he scored 3 goals in 5 appearances at the World Cup.
He was already linked with a move to Manchester United in the summer itself and after the World Cup campaign he had, it would be a surprise if he remains at PSV for much longer.
As reported by MARCA, Gakpo has been linked and offered to Real Madrid, but at no time has he appeared on the radar of the club’s decision makers.
Real Madrid have made Gakpo transfer decision ahead of January
Real Madrid have been linked with a long list of players in recent times but it looks like they will not be tempted into making any additions in the January transfer window.
Thus, it looks like they are laying the foundations of the upcoming summer transfer window right now rather than trying to make deals happen in January. Also, it is worth pointing out that the club are on the verge of getting a deal over the line to sign Endrick and it is believed to have been verbally agreed with Palmeiras already.
If Gakpo is still available in the summer then Real Madrid should consider making a move, as he looks like a top talent who has every attribute you could ask for. But at the same time, it does feel like some top European club will swoop in and sign him in January itself.
