One of Manchester United’s brightest young talents right now is Alejandro Garnacho, who has already started to make his presence felt in the senior team. But his future seems to be up in the air, with his current deal set to run out at the end of the season. And some rumours have linked him with a potential move to Real Madrid.

While Real Madrid are not believed to be looking to add to their squad in January, the club should not have any problem adding a talent like Garnacho to their ranks at the end of the campaign, especially if he is available on a free transfer.

Of course, Manchester United would not want to see that happen as Garnacho is considered as the next big thing at the club. Thus, they would surely be looking to do everything that they can to make sure that he extends his contract with the Red Devils.

Amidst all this, as reported by Metro, David de Gea intervened to tell Spanish reporters when Garnacho was asked about a move to the Santiago Bernabeu:

"‘We won’t let him leave.’"

Manchester United legend comments on Garnacho to Real Madrid rumours

It will be very interesting to see what the future holds for Garnacho. He is certainly a talent worth keeping an eye on.

He has represented both Argentina and Spain at the youth levels. On the other hand, even at 18 years of age, he is making an impact on the Manchester United first-team.

The most likely scenario is that he will end up signing a contract extension with Manchester United and stay at Old Trafford. He is starting to get first-team minutes and there is no reason for him to leave. According to stats from Transfermarkt, Garnacho has made 8 appearances this season, scoring and assisting twice each.

If he did end up moving to Real Madrid, he would have to compete with Vinicius Jr for a first-team spot and that is a contest he is unlikely to win anytime soon.
