Real Madrid star hailed as the best by his former coach
Coming into the World Cup, not many people gave France a big chance. They had key players like Karim Benzema, Paul Pogba, N’Golo Kante and Christopher Nkunku missing. Yet, the defending champions have been successful in making it to the semi-final of the compeition and one of the key reasons behind their success has been Real Madrid star, Aurelien Tchouameni.
Tchouameni joined Real Madrid in the summer from AS Monaco and he has been a revelation since then. The initial belief was that he would start off with a role on the bench before being slowly moved into the starting XI in the future. That has not been the case at all.
Instead, he has been a starter from the get go as Casemiro left the club to join Manchester United in the summer. And incredibly, Real Madrid have not felt the absence of the Brazilian, thanks to Tchouameni.
Niko Kovac was the manager of AS Monaco, while Tchouameni was rising up the ranks there and establishing himself as one of the best midfielders in France. And the current Wolfsburg boss had a lot of positive things to say about the Real Madrid star. As reported by Kicker, he said:
"“He’s someone who, as a young player, thought he had to do everything.“Until he understood that he had to focus on his main job as a six. That’s why it was so expensive, that’s why he ended up at Real. He’s the best in his field, you can see that from the data.”"

Tchouameni is certainly one of the best midfielders on the planet at this moment without a shadow of a doubt.
Not many players can do what he has done, come in at Real Madrid and establish themselves as a bona fide starter at just 22 years of age.
It is clear that the sky is the limit for Tchouameni and it feels like Real Madrid have found their next midfield general for the next decade to come. They shelled out a big transfer fee to sign the Frenchman, but he has been worth every penny and then some.
