When Real Madrid decided to bring back Carlo Ancelotti as manager for a second stint at Santiago Bernabeu, many had believed that it was only a transitional appointment because a long-term option was not available. But the Italian boss delivered a Champions League and La Liga double in his very first season back at the club and thoughts about his future have certainly changed after that.

Ancelotti certainly belongs in the conversation of the greatest managers of all-time, even though he often does not get the credit that he deserves.

One thing that the Italian has never done though is manage an international team. And it does not seem like he is planning to do that anytime soon either.

As reported by MARCA, rumours have indicated that Brazil would be interested in bringing him in next year, but neither Real Madrid nor Ancelotti are willing to part ways soon. The Italian’s current deal with the club runs till the summer of 2024.

Real Madrid boss is ready to turn down blockbuster international job offer

Brazil endured another disappointing World Cup campaign. They had entered the competition as the favourites to win it and had without doubt the most talented and complete squad.

But they were knocked from the quarter-finals by the Croatian national team on penalties, despite leading till the 117th minute of the game.

The result meant that Brazil’s long search for a sixth World Cup continues. They last won the competition back in 2002, which means that by the time the tournament comes around in 2026, it would have been 24 years without a world title for the Selecao.

Thus, it is not hard to see why they might be looking to make a big name appointment after Tite left his post. Ancelotti also has the experience of managing several of their top stars, but it does not look like the Italian has any interest in departing Santiago Bernabeu and it is even possible that he might retire from management after his time at the club comes to an end.
