Right-back is believed to be an area of worry for Real Madrid at the moment. Dani Carvajal is the starter there but he is 30 years of age now, and some of his recent performances have raised questions. His cover, Lucas Vazquez, is even older at 31. And Alvaro Odriozola is expected to be on his way out soon, having not played a single minute of football this season. AS Roma and Juventus have been linked with him.

Real Madrid might have the long-term solution to their worries at right-back already at the club though, in the form of Vinicius Tobias.

The 18-year-old Brazilian right-back is currently at Castilla on loan from Shakhtar Donetsk, but Real Madrid are rumoured to have an option to buy included in the deal of around €18 million.

No decision has yet been made on whether Los Blancos will trigger that option or not, but Tobias certainly seems to have impressed Castilla coach and Real Madrid legend, Raul, with his performances. As reported by El Espanol, he said about the Brazilian wonderkid:

"“The boy is improving and offensively he has quality. He is daring to do more and more things, and defensively the team has been organized and solid with the line of five. We have helped him to progress.”"

Real Madrid have proven to be brilliant in developing Brazilian wonderkids into first-team superstars in recent years. The two best examples are Vinicius Jr and Rodrygo, both of whom are regular features in the starting XI today.

On the other hand, the club are on the verge of signing Endrick from Palmeiras as well, with everything believed to have been verbally agreed between the two parties.

As a result, with Tobias shining at Castilla, it would make sense to sign him on a permanent basis as well. He is still just 18 years of age and has plenty of time on his hands to develop and eventually make it to the first-team level in a couple of years time.
