Real Madrid interested in bringing back former player
Real Madrid might need to strengthen at left-back it the near future after questions have been raised about Ferland Mendy’s place in the team. The Frenchman is one of the best in the world defensively but going forward, he leaves a lot to be desired, which is perhaps why he was left out of France’s World Cup squad.
Mendy has faced some criticism for his recent run of form as well. On the other hand, Real Madrid do not really have any real back up option for him, which has meant that David Alaba has filled in there, despite him being one of the starting centre-backs.
As a result, left-back is an area of the pitch where Real Madrid could do with some reinforcements, and one of the players that they are being linked with played for the club even last season.
As reported by Defensa Central (via The Hard Tackle), Miguel Gutierrez is the subject of interest from Real Madrid and the club are keeping tabs on the progress of the 21-year-old at Girona.
Real Madrid are interested in bringing back defender after his summer exit
Gutierrez came through the youth ranks at Real Madrid and was one of their most highly rated youngsters.
He never really managed to make a real mark at the senior level though and ended up leaving for Girona in the summer, after only making a bunch of appearances for Real Madrid.
He has been a real revelation at Girona though, has already established himself as a regular starter there and proven himself to be one of the most exciting young left-backs in Spanish football.
Thus, it should not come as a major surprise that Los Blancos are keeping tabs on their former player and could potentially end up making a move for him. Let’s see what the future holds.
