Real Madrid are closing in on a deal for Endrick and everything is believed to have been agreed verbally. The package is believed to be worth up to €72 million including add-ons and taxes. That is a huge figure to shell out, especially for a 16-year-old with seven senior appearances to his name. Once that is over the line, one would expect Los Blancos’ attention to turn towards Jude Bellingham, who has been heavily linked with a move to Santiago Bernabeu in recent months.

Bellingham has established himself as one of the best midfielders in the game at just 19 years of age. He has delivered for Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga and the Champions League, even captaining them at times, and showed with England at the World Cup what he is capable of.

While Real Madrid are in the race to sign Bellingham, there are several other top clubs interested in signing him as well, and several rumours had suggested that Liverpool were leading the race to sign him.

But as tweeted out by Diario AS, the Portuguese press assures that Enzo Fernandez already has a pre-agreement with Liverpool and it remains to be seen what Benfica think of it.

Liverpool might have handed unexpected transfer boost to Real Madrid in Bellingham race

If Liverpool do indeed have a pre-agreement with Fernandez and end up signing him from Benfica in the future, then it would be almost impossible for them to bring in Bellingham as well.

The Argentine might have joined Benfica in the summer for a transfer fee believed to be around €12 million. But he is enjoying a brilliant World Cup with Argentina and it would not be a surprise if the Portuguese club want a figure north of €100 million for his signature now.

Thus, if Liverpool end up signing Fernandez then it would open the door a bit wider for other clubs, including Real Madrid, to swoop in for Bellingham. The likes of Manchester City and Chelsea are believed to be interested in the Englishman as well.

Bellingham is expected to be one of the premier midfielders in the world for more than a decade to come and as a result, any club that ends up signing him would be pulling off a major coup.
