Real Madrid give World Cup final permission to Karim Benzema

The World Cup final is set. France will take on Argentina for the biggest prize in all of football. And it looks like there is a possibility that Real Madrid’s Karim Benzema could travel to Qatar in order to accompany his national teammates in the big game.

Benzema had to pull out of the France national team camp before the World Cup after suffering an injury in training. The reigning Ballon d’Or winner has been struggling with fitness issues throughout the course of the season. His name was never officially removed from the 26-man squad though.

As reported by Mundo Deportivo, Benzema has the authorization of the club to go to the Lusail Stadium and be able to live this moment. Now it is up to the player whether he wants to go or not.

It must also be pointed out that with Benzema not being removed from the 26-man squad by Didier Deschamps, he is set to receive a World Cup medal as well, whether it be gold or silver.

Benzema has permission of Real Madrid to go to the World Cup final

Benzema was expected to be an integral part of this French side before he ended up getting injured leading up to the tournament.

France have several other key players missing as well, like N’Golo Kante, Paul Pogba and Christopher Nkunku. Thus, it goes to show the depth of their talent pool, that they have been able to make it to the final of the World Cup.

Having won the competition in 2018 as well, they will be looking retain the title in Qatar. Standing in their way will be Lionel Messi’s Argentina, who are looking to end their national team’s 36 year-long wait for a World Cup, having won it the last time back in 1986, inspired by Diego Maradona.
