When Real Madrid brought back Carlo Ancelotti for a second stint at Santiago Bernabeu, a lot of people were not sure about the appointment. It had looked like the Italian’s managerial career had started to fizzle away a bit. He was managing Everton before the move, and many had viewed it is a short-term fix on the part of Los Blancos during a transitional phase.

Ancelotti has flipped the script since then though, and guided the club to a Champions League and La Liga double against all odds and expectations.

Thus, there does not seem to be any chance of him leaving the club anytime soon, especially with the Italian legend having a contract till the summer of 2024. And it looks like he is not planning on leaving before that, despite being linked with the Brazil national job recently.

As reported by MARCA, Ancelotti told RAI Radio 1 about his future at Real Madrid:

"“I don’t know what the future holds for me, I live day by day.“For the moment, I’m happy in Madrid, we have a lot of objectives for this season.“There will be time to think about my future. I have a contract until June 30, 2024, and, if Real Madrid don’t sack me before then, I’m not going to move.”"

At clubs like Real Madrid, things can change very quickly and just one underwhelming season can change the situation of the manager. That’s all it had taken for Ancelotti to be shown the exit door the first time around.

It does feel like the club’s approach since then has changed though, and they show a lot more patience these days.

At this point of time, Ancelotti does seem like the perfect manager for Real Madrid. Not only has he been successful in producing results on the pitch but he has also helped in the development of a number of the club’s youngsters. Just take a look at the likes of Vinicius Junior, Rodrygo and Federico Valverde now and 18 months back. The difference is incredible and the Italian mastermind deserves a lot of credit for that. So hopefully, he remains at Santiago Bernabeu for a good while longer.
