Real Madrid have a number of players in their squad at the moment whose contracts are set to run out next summer. The club will surely try to keep hold of some of them and offer them new deals. On the other hand, they could be more than content to let a few leave, with them not having a clear place in Carlo Ancelotti’s plans.

Marco Asensio is someone whose position is pretty interesting. Earlier on in the campaign, it had looked almost certain that he would depart next summer if not in January for a token transfer fee.

But he has become more important to Ancelotti’s plans as the season has progressed. While he is still not a starter, he is getting regular minutes off the bench and rumours broke out that the club were ready to offer him a new deal.

It remains to be seen if that turns out to be the case or not, with the Spaniard yet to sign an extension. If he did leave Real Madrid, there would be no lack of interest in his signature though. Clubs like Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal were linked with him in the summer, and now, it looks like PSG have joined the race as well.

As reported by Media Foot, PSG are keeping track of Asensio and he is attractive to them especially because he could be available on a free transfer, on top of his experience and technical ability.

It remains to be seen if Asensio’s contract at Real Madrid indeed runs out or he ends up extending his stay in the Spanish capital.

One thing is for sure, if he was to leave Real Madrid, PSG could certainly be an attractive destination for the Spaniard.
