Brazil endured another disappointing World Cup campaign. While they had to witness South American rivals, Argentina, win the tournament, they themselves could only reach the quarter-finals before being knocked out by Croatia. Since then, Tite has left his role as manager and the Selecao have been linked with current Real Madrid boss, Carlo Ancelotti, as a potential replacement.

Ancelotti has achieved almost everything in his career but never managed an international team. Thus, it is not hard to see why the Brazil job could potentially be attractive. But the Italian has mentioned publicly that he has no plans to leave Real Madrid before the summer of 2024, when his current contract with the club runs out.

Ancelotti is not the only manager with an association to Real Madrid who the Brazil national team appear to be interested in appointing though.

As reported by la Repubblica (via Football Italia), Brazil are also considering Jose Mourinho and tasked an intermediary with opening talks with Jorge Mendes.

Brazil national team are interested in former Real Madrid manager amid Ancelotti rumours

Mourinho has had a roller coaster career in recent years. His spells at Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur were disappointing to say the least. And while he has been able to deliver silverware with AS Roma in the form of the UEFA Europa Conference League, they have not made any real progress in the Serie A till now.

Yet, there seems to be plenty of interest in the services of Mourinho and the Portuguese national team are believed to be keeping an eye on his situation as well. There were some rumours linking him with a potential return to Real Madrid as well, in the event that Ancelotti left.

Thus, it is safe to say that Mourinho’s future could be interesting and it remains to be seen if he stays on at AS Roma for too much longer or not.
