Brazil endured another disappointing World Cup campaign this time around. Having not won the competition since 2002, they were believed to have the most complete squad out of all the teams, going into the tournament. And yet, all they could manage was a run to the quarter-finals, before being knocked out by Croatia. Unsurprisingly, Tite has stepped down from his position since then, and the national team has been linked with several managers to fill the empty hot seat, including Real Madrid’s Carlo Ancelotti.

Ancelotti has spoken publicly about having no desire to leave Santiago Bernabeu before the summer of 2024, when his contract expires. Former Real Madrid manager, Jose Mourinho, has been linked with the Brazil national team job as well.

And now, it looks like the Selecao could have their eyes on another former Real Madrid manager and all-time legend in the form of Zinedine Zidane.

As reported by L’Equipe (via Get French Football News), Zidane is among the names potentially being considered to take over the Brazilian national team.

One of the greatest players of all-time, Zidane has enjoyed a lot of success as a manager as well, as he guided Real Madrid to three Champions League titles and several other trophies over his two separate stints in the Santiago Bernabeu hot seat.

Since leaving Real Madrid in 2021, he has not taken up another managerial job though. While he has been constantly linked with the France national team job for a long time, it has not transpired till now.

Having led Les Bleus to a World Cup in 2018 and a runners up spot in 2022, it is still unclear whether Didier Deschamps will step down from his role or not. As a result, could the Selecao job tempt someone like Zidane?
