Cristiano Ronaldo’s son joins Real Madrid academy
Cristiano Ronaldo’s future in football has been a topic of discussion for some time now. The Real Madrid legend’s return to Manchester United came to the worst possible end after a controversial interview with Piers Morgan, which has raised questions about his legacy at Old Trafford and how he will be remembered by the club’s fans. The World Cup was an opportunity for the Portuguese superstar to prove that he was still a world-class player.
Instead, it provided proof in favour of the belief that he is past his prime now. Ronaldo seemed to struggle and ended up losing his place in the starting XI in the knockout stages of the World Cup, as Portugal were eliminated from the quarter-finals by Morocco in a shock result.
Now without a club, most of the rumours suggest that Ronaldo will be heading to play for Al-Nassr in the Saudi Pro League. His son’s future seems to lie in the Spanish capital though.
As reported by The Sun, Edu Cornago confirmed Cristiano Ronaldo Jr’s return to the Madrid academy on Tuesday.
Cristiano Jr has returned to Real Madrid academy
Cristiano Jr is a very highly rated youth player in his own right, as he looks to follow in the footsteps of his legendary father and become a professional footballer. It is believed that he has scored more than 50 goals in 20 matches at the U-14 level.
Thus, bringing back Cristiano Jr to the club is a major boost for Los Blancos without a shadow of a doubt.
Many fans might read into this as a potential hint that Ronaldo could be set to return to Real Madrid as well. But the chances of that happening seem to be pretty slim at the moment. The Portuguese superstar’s most likely destination is Al-Nassr, where he is expected to sign a record-breaking contract.
