One of the areas that is a bit of a worry for Real Madrid at the moment is left-back. Ferland Mendy is the starter there but questions have been raised about his long-term future at Santiago Bernabeu, with some rumours even suggesting that the club are open to letting him leave in the near future.
On the other hand, Real Madrid do not have any another out-and-out left-backs as cover for Mendy. David Alaba fills in for the Frenchman, but at this stage of his career, the former Bayern Munich star is more of a centre-back.
On top of that, there are concerns about Mendy’s fitness as well, considering his injury history. As a result, even if he stays on at the club, Real Madrid need to bring in another left-back to strengthen that area of the pitch.
And as reported by MARCA, Real Madrid are considering making a move to bring back Fran Garcia to Santiago Bernabeu. Many, including Carlo Ancelotti, believe that he should be in Los Blancos’ first-team from next summer.
Real Madrid considering bringing back former player next summer
Garcia came through the youth ranks at Real Madrid and was very highly-rated. But he was never able to break into the first-team picture at the club.
As a result, after making only one senior appearance for Real Madrid, he left the club in order to join Rayo Vallecano.
There, he has turned his career around though and has been immensely impressive with his performances in La Liga this season, which have caught the eye of his former club.
Now, it remains to be seen if the club end up making a move for Garcia next summer or not. If Los Blancos really push to sign him, it does not feel like they should have much trouble bringing him back to Santiago Bernabeu.
