The Brazil national team job is up for grabs following the departure of Tite after a disappointing World Cup campaign. The Selecao were the favourites to win it all going into the tournament and the most complete squad, but were only able to make it to the last 8 before being knocked out by Croatia. Thus, it is pretty clear that change is needed in the managerial hot seat and Ronaldo Nazario seems to be backing one of his former Real Madrid teammates.

A lot of big name coaches have been linked with the Brazil job in recent times including current Real Madrid manager, Carlo Ancelotti, and Jose Mourinho.

But as reported by the MirrorZinedine Zidane has emerged as a candidate to be the next coach of the Brazil national team, with influential support from his former Real Madrid teammate Ronaldo.

Zidane guided Real Madrid to a lot of success during his two stints as the manager of the club but has been without a job since leaving in 2021. That is not due to a lack of options though but because the French legend seems to be waiting for the right opportunity.

Former Real Madrid manager backed by Ronaldo to be the next Brazil coach

It is not hard to see why Zidane could be a good fit as the Brazil national team coach. Similar to the Real Madrid team that he managed, there is an abundance of talent in that squad as well.

Zidane’s best trait as a manager has always been the ability to get the best out of his players and the Selecao might exactly need someone like that for their underperforming squad.

It remains to be seen if the Brazil job does end up tempting Zidane or not though, who has been linked with the French national team for years but it is still unclear whether Didier Deschamps will step down or continue on in his role.
