Real Madrid has been the home to many legends of the game over its storied history, so much so that it has become one of the most attractive destinations for players, even though they could potentially earn bigger wages elsewhere. That is one of the key reasons why Los Blancos have been successful in remaining one of the best teams in Europe despite there being certain Premier League midtable teams, who have spent more than them on transfers over the past decade.
At the moment, they are being linked with some of the best rising stars in the game as well and one player that certainly deserves mention in that regard is Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
Kvaratskhelia has been absolutely sensational since joining Napoli in the summer and has earned the nickname ‘Kvaradona’ already. That should go on to show how highly he is regarded by the club’s fans.
Unsurprisingly, he is being linked with a move away with Real Madrid supposedly one of the clubs believed to be interested in the youngster.
Kvaratskhelia names Real Madrid legends as his favourites growing up
As reported by GOAL, when asked about his favourite player as a kid, Kvaratskhelia told DAZN:
"“Guti. I always watched him and I liked the way he played. He was already great when I followed him and shortly after he left football. After Guti my favorite became Cristiano Ronaldo.”"
Guti is certainly a Real Madrid legend and spent almost 25 years at the club, coming through the youth system to establish himself in the first-team before finally departing in 2010 after winning everything that there was to win in club football several times over during his time at Santiago Bernabeu. It feels like his legacy does not get the credit that it deserves these days.
On the other hand, there is not much left to be said about Cristiano Ronaldo and his brilliance. He is arguably the best player in Real Madrid history.
Kvaratskhelia naming two Real Madrid players as his favourites would certainly point towards him having a liking for the club. Let’s see if a move to Santiago Bernabeu lies in his future or not.
