Cristiano Ronaldo’s Manchester United career came to an abrupt end, following the release of his controversial interview with Piers Morgan. The Portuguese icon finds himself as a free agent now and in search of a new club. He even trained at Valdebebas recently in order to stay fit, sparking rumours about a return to Santiago Bernabeu. But it looks like Saudi Pro League club, Al-Nassr, are the favourites to sign him and could be looking to reunite him with a Real Madrid legend.
Of course, a deal for Ronaldo is not completely over the line yet, but at this point, it is believed to be a matter of when and not if, with the Portuguese superstar looking set to sign a record-breaking contract with Al-Nassr.
Just signing Ronaldo would be considered as a major coup for most clubs on the planet, but it looks like Al-Nassr already have more plans in place.
As reported by MARCA, Al-Nassr are working on trying to convince Sergio Ramos to join the project from next summer. The Paris Saint-Germain player is the next target.
Al-Nassr want to reunite Ronaldo with Real Madrid legend
It is clear that Al-Nassr are trying to sign some of the biggest names in the game in order to turn themselves into a global brand as a football club.
Signing Ramos would go a long way in that. The former Real Madrid captain is arguably the best defender of his generation and certainly the most successful when it comes to winning silverware.
He is also one of the most recognisable names in world football. But Ramos is currently playing at PSG, and after a difficult debut campaign, the Spaniard has actually established himself as a starter at the French giants.
Thus, it will be interesting to see if he is ready to leave top level European football to join Al-Nassr, although his current contract with PSG does expire at the end of this season.
