Al-Nassr have already made a big splash in the football world by signing Cristiano Ronaldo. It is a move that would have seemed absolutely impossible even six months ago but the Portuguese icon is going to don their yellow jersey. And it looks like the Saudi Pro League club have no plans to stop just there either, and have a Real Madrid superstar in their sights as well.
Al-Nassr appear to be looking to become the Real Madrid of Asia. With Ronaldo already signed, the club are being linked with several other top players as well.
They have already been linked with Sergio Ramos, and now, it looks like they have an eye on Luka Modric as well, with the 37-year-old pretty much in the twilight of his career and his contract running out next summer as things stand.
As reported by MARCA, Al-Nassr is very serious and in the summer of 2023 they want Ramos and in 2024, Modric.
Al-Nassr linked with move for Real Madrid superstar
Modric is currently in the final year of his contract with Real Madrid but it is believed that staying at Santiago Bernabeu is the priority for the Croatian star.
It is not hard to understand why either. Despite being 37 years of age, he is playing at a top level till now and is a starter for a club like Real Madrid.
As a result, there is really no reason for him to consider leaving top level European football at this point of time, which was not the case for Ronaldo, who had struggled for both club and country this season before his move to Al-Nassr.
It is believed that Real Madrid are very happy with Modric as well and while an extension has not been signed yet, it is not something that is viewed as an obstacle.
