Real Madrid are set to face Cacereno in the Copa del Rey round of 32. It goes without saying that Los Blancos will be the heavy favourites going into that game. But at the same time, it appears that they could be without a few of their key players in the form of Thibaut Courtois and Dani Carvajal.

Both Courtois and Carvajal did not train with the first-team recently and instead were believed to have trained inside the facilities. That led to speculation that they were struggling with injury problems.

Of course, any injury to Courtois would be a major problem for Real Madrid, as the Belgian has been immense for the club. On the other hand, while there have been some questions about Carvajal and his form, the Spaniard is a nailed on starter for the club as well.

There is some good news regarding their fitness, at it looks like they have small problems and will be back in time to face Villarreal. As reported by MARCA, Carlo Ancelotti said about the situation:

"“They have small problems, they will be available at Villarreal.”"

Real Madrid boss gives positive injury update on Courtois and Carvajal

It is safe to say that Courtois is one of the most important parts of this Real Madrid side. He showed that with his performance against Real Valladolid at the weekend.

Putting a disappointing World Cup campaign with Belgium behind him, the goalkeeper produced several key saves and without his presence between the sticks, the hosts could have potentially won or drawn on that day. Instead, Real Madrid came out with a 2-0 win.

Carvajal is the starter for Real Madrid at right-back and there have been calls for the club to sign someone to compete with him. It remains to be seen if that will happen in the future or not, but at this point of time, it is pretty clear that the Spaniard is the best option that Ancelotti has.
