Martin Odegaard has been sensational this season and a lot of Real Madrid fans are already wondering whether the club made the wrong decision, letting him go. Arsenal are currently leading the Premier League title race and their Norwegian captain has been one of the biggest reasons behind that.

Odegaard has already managed to find the back of the net seven times this season in the Premier League, while setting his teammates up consistently as well.

For a player that has never been known as a consistent goalscorer, that is a great output, as Odegaard is certainly making a difference. At Real Madrid, he was never able to register either a goal or an assist for the senior team.

Naturally, his stunning form has led to rumours about a potential return to Santiago Bernabeu in the future. But as reported by Defensa Central (via The Hard Tackle), Odegaard does not feature on the radar of Real Madrid and the club have no interest in the Arsenal star, with them having different priorities right now.

Real Madrid have made Odegaard transfer decision

It is safe to say that on current form, Odegaard could have certainly made an impact on the Real Madrid first-team. He has been one of the best players in the Premier League this season.

At the same time though, one cannot forget that he did not make an impact in a Royal White jersey, during his time in the Spanish capital. So while the decision to let him go might seem like a mistake in hindsight, it made sense back when it was made.

Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta, deserves a lot of credit as well for developing Odegaard’s game over the past couple of years and getting the best out of the Norwegian.

For Real Madrid though, the priority target seems to be Jude Bellingham, who has the potential to be one of the best midfielders in the world for the next decade and a half to come.
