Real Madrid could do with another left-back. The future of Ferland Mendy is under question, as rumours have suggested that many feel he is not a long-term solution for the club. On the other hand, Los Blancos do not have any real competition for the Frenchman either, with David Alaba filling in when he does not play.

The club have been linked with two of their former youth standouts, Fran Garcia of Rayo Vallecano and Miguel Gutierrez of Girona. One has to wonder though whether either of them is good enough to be a starter for Real Madrid, or more suited to a back up role.

This is where Alphonso Davies comes into the picture. The Canadian international is one of the best left-backs on the planet and already an established starter for Bayern Munich.

As reported by AS, Real Madrid have identified Davies as a priority target at left-back for the summer of 2024.

Real Madrid have made Davies transfer decision

Davies enjoyed his breakout at Bayern Munich as a teenager and was a key part in them winning the Champions League a few years back. He was already being considered one of the best left-backs in the world back then and who can forget his performance against Barcelona, as the Catalan giants just could not handle the pace and strength of the Canadian.

Since then, Davies has had to deal with a few injuries and health issues as well, which have meant that he has not been in the spotlight as much as his talent deserves.

But now, he is back to featuring regularly for Bayern Munich once again and still just 22 years of age, he is expected to get only better moving forward.

Davies’ contract with Bayern Munich runs till the summer of 2025 though and it looks like Real Madrid are hoping to get a deal done in 2024 for a good transfer price.
