Real Madrid’s recent form has worried the fans. They were clearly struggling in the weeks leading up to the World Cup and the hope was that the players would return refreshed and motivated after the grand tournament. That does not seem to have happened though. Los Blancos’ performance vs Real Valladolid was average at best despite the win. They were uninspiring vs Cacereno as well. And things caught up to them at the weekend in a loss against Villarreal.
It is safe to say that the situation is far from ideal. And things seem to be continuing south for Carlo Ancelotti’s men.
Both Aurelien Tchouameni and David Alaba have picked up injuries. And now, there is some light on how long the duo will be out for.
As reported by MARCA, both will be out for around three weeks. Thus, they will not be a part of the Supercopa de Espana.
Real Madrid stars ruled out for three weeks due to respective injuries
The good news is that neither injury is serious and both Alaba and Tchouameni should be back in the mix in about three weeks.
In that sense, the Supercopa de Espana might have come at the right time. While Real Madrid want to win as many trophies as possible every season, one has to admit that La Liga is much more important between the two.
At the same time, the schedule is very tight and both Alaba and Tchouameni could still end up missing some key games. Thus, one can only hope that they are back to full fitness as soon as possible.
The good thing is that Real Madrid have cover at the back in the form of Antonio Rudiger, Nacho Fernandez and Eder Militao.
On the other hand, when it comes to replacing Tchouameni in the starting XI, the best solution might be to move Fede Valverde into the middle of the park to form a midfield trio with Luka Modric and Toni Kroos.
