Real Madrid could do with another option up top. Karim Benzema is the reigning Ballon d’Or holder but he has struggled with injuries this season and his form has taken a hit as well. On the other hand, Carlo Ancelotti’s team do not have any other cover option to the Frenchman either except for Mariano Diaz, who does not seem to be in the manager’s plans and expected to leave at the end of the campaign when his contract runs out.

Thus, it would come as no surprise if Real Madrid ended up signing another striker next summer and one player they have been linked with on-and-off for years is Harry Kane of Tottenham Hotspur.

The England national team captain has been one of the best strikers in the world for close to a decade now, but that has not translated to silverware at Tottenham Hotspur. As a result, he is expected to leave the London club in the near future.

But as reported by Fabrizio Romano in his Daily Briefing on the CaughtOffside Substack, Real Madrid are not working on Kane as things stand.

There is no doubt that Kane is one of the best strikers on the planet and has consistently produced the goods for years. According to stats from Transfermarkt, he has scored 265 goals in 412 appearances for Tottenham Hotspur till now.

If Real Madrid were to sign him, he would almost certainly find the back of the net regularly in the Royal White jersey.

But he will turn 30 years of age next summer and it is hard to see Real Madrid shell out a massive transfer fee in order to sign him, considering how much they have concentrated on signing the best young talents in world football in recent years.
