Real Madrid have been linked with a long list of players in recent times as it looks like the next summer transfer window could be a busy one for Los Blancos, who certainly need to bring in reinforcements in several positions. On the other hand, Barcelona are expected to make additions as well. While they are leading the La Liga race, the Catalan giants were knocked out of the group stage in the Champions League once again.

Thus, it would not be a surprise if the clubs end up having multiple common transfer targets. And one of them appears to be Bayern Munich’s Benjamin Pavard.

Pavard has been a regular in Bayern Munich’s starting XI but it looks like the Frenchman could be on his way out of the club next summer.

As tweeted out by Florian Plettenberg, there have been loose talks with Barcelona while Real Madrid have also inquired about Pavard. Both clubs are looking for a right-back while Bayern Munich are searching for replacements.

Both Real Madrid and Barcelona want to sign Bayern Munich star

It appears that Pavard is drawing the interest of both the La Liga giants. His current deal with Bayern Munich runs till the summer of 2024 and he is more likely to leave soon than to sign an extension with the Bundesliga champions.

The interesting thing is, while Pavard is mostly known as a right-back, there have been suggestions that he is more interested in playing as a centre-back. Do Real Madrid need another player in that position though?

Well, with Nacho Fernandez potentially leaving the club at the end of the season, someone like Pavard could be the perfect replacement, with his ability to play both at centre-back and at right-back.

Now, let’s see what the future holds and if Real Madrid end up making a concrete move for the French World Cup winner.
