Injuries have been a major problem for Real Madrid this season. Their blistering start to the campaign was somewhat derailed in the weeks leading up to the World Cup due to a number of fitness issues and general fatigue. The hope was that things would improve after the tournament and the players would be fitter and refreshed after the short break for most.

That has not been the case though. Instead, players appear to be picking up injuries even more often after the World Cup break.

David Alaba and Aurelien Tchouameni have missed the Spanish Super Cup, due to respective injuries keeping them out for about three weeks. And in the semi-final against Valencia, Real Madrid ended up picking more problems. The most serious of them is considered to be Lucas Vazquez. But Eduardo Camavinga did not escape unscathed either.

As reported by MARCA, Camavinga will rest after the blow to the right knee suffered against Valencia. There is some concern in the case of the French midfielder and he seems to be a serious doubt ahead of the final.

Real Madrid have suffered a Camavinga injury blow

Camavinga enjoyed a very good debut campaign and the expectation was that he would take a step forward this season. It has not really worked out that way till now though, as the French youngster has struggled for minutes.

Camavinga has picked up some momentum in recent times though. His performance in the World Cup final was brilliant and helped France mount a comeback. On the other hand, his cameo off the bench was instrumental in Real Madrid’s win over Real Valladolid.

Also, his versatility is an asset as well, especially with Alaba out injured and Ferland Mendy struggling with fitness issues too. Thus, one can only hope that Camavinga’s problem is nothing serious and he is back on the pitch soon.
