When you play for Real Madrid, you are expected to win every trophy that you compete in. That will be the case when Los Blancos take to the pitch against Barcelona in the final of the Spanish Super Cup. Of course, when it comes to overall importance, this is not anywhere near the Champions League, La Liga or the Copa del Rey. Yet, that should not be visible in the action, with both teams expected to give it their all.

Real Madrid will have to be considered as the slight favourites. They simply have the experience of performing under pressure and winning trophies consistently, which this Barcelona team do not.

For one player, more will be riding on this game than most and it is none other than Eduardo Camavinga, who has been handed a start against Barcelona in the Spanish Super Cup final, alongside the legendary duo of Luka Modric and Toni Kroos in the middle of the park.

Of course, the fact that Aurelien Tchouameni is out injured has played its part in that but ultimately, this is a huge opportunity for Camavinga.

After a great debut campaign, Camavinga’s development has not gone as well as expected this season, as he has found playing time hard to come by.

The Frenchman has impressed in recent weeks though and with Tchouameni out of action, it looks like he has played his way into the starting XI for the time being.

There were some fitness concerns surrounding Camavinga coming into the game but it looks like not only has the Frenchman put them behind him, but he is fit enough to be starting a game of this magnitude.

Now, the important thing is for him to produce a top quality performance. That could help set up the second half of the season for him and drastically improve his hopes of getting consistent playing time.
