Real Madrid’s transfer strategy in recent years seems to have been based upon signing some of the most highly rated youngsters from all over the world, so that they are able to set their team up for success for years to come. Signing a 16-year-old Endrick in a big money move from Palmeiras was part of that approach. As have been the links with players like Jude Bellingham, Josko Gvardiol, Alphonso Davies, and several others.
Another player who seems to have caught the eye of Real Madrid in recent times and been linked with them on numerous occasions is Manchester United’s Alejandro Garnacho.
The teenager has enjoyed a rapid rise this season and is already making an impact at the first-team level for the Red Devils. It is quite clear that he is highly rated by Erik ten Hag.
His contract at Manchester United is running out though, which might have opened a window of opportunity for clubs like Real Madrid to swoop in and sign him. But now, it looks like that might not end up happening after all.
Manchester United close to agreeing new deal with Real Madrid transfer target
As reported by The Telegraph, Garnacho is close to signing a new contract with Manchester United.
He is enjoying quite the rise at the moment. According to stats from Transfermarkt, Garnacho has scored 2 goals and provided 5 assists in 15 appearances and 593 minutes of football for Manchester United this season.
It goes without saying that that is incredibly impressive for an 18-year-old and it looks almost certain that he is destined to be a future star, if he can continue to develop at this rate. Thus, it is not hard to understand why he might have caught the eye of Real Madrid but it appears that his future lies at Old Trafford.
