Jude Bellingham is believed to be Real Madrid’s number one priority for the upcoming summer transfer window. It is not hard to understand why that might very well be the case, considering the Englishman has the potential to be the best midfielder of his generation and the quality of his play, at just 19 years of age, is absolutely unbelievable.

Bellingham plays like he has the experience of someone a decade older than him. He is already one of the best in the Bundesliga and has proven himself in the Champions League time and again. He has also captained Borussia Dortmund while still being a teenager. And one could argue that he was England’s best performer at the World Cup.

So, it is quite clear that the sky is the limit for Bellingham and he ticks all of the boxes that one could want in a modern day midfielder.

Some rumours had suggested that Real Madrid were leading the race to sign Bellingham and the player himself had his heart set on a move to the Spanish capital. But now, it looks like that might not quite be the case after all.

New twist in Bellingham to Real Madrid transfer saga

As tweeted out by Jan Aage Fjortoft, Team Bellingham have told Real Madrid they are talking to Liverpool too. At this stage, they are investigating their options and there are no favourites.

Let’s see how things turn out in the race to sign Bellingham but it looks like Real Madrid are not the favourites to sign him, like many had expected.

Still, one would consider Real Madrid as one of the frontrunners, if the club decide to make an actual push for the English midfield maestro. The biggest obstacle could be agreeing a fee with Borussia Dortmund though, as it is believed that the club could look for a figure around €150 million to let Bellingham leave.
