Jude Bellingham is believed to Real Madrid’s priority target in the upcoming summer transfer window. Of course, they are not the only club with an interest in the Borussia Dortmund superstar. Liverpool clearly need a boost after what is turning out to be a nightmare season for them. Manchester City are always in the mix to sign the biggest talents. Manchester United seem rejuvenated and big-time players again. And it would be a mistake to count Chelsea out.

The entire saga had taken another twist though, when it emerged that Borussia Dortmund had an interest in handing Bellingham an extension and making him the highest paid player in the club’s history.

But as reported by The Sun, Bellingham is expected to turn down a new deal when he meets Borussia Dortmund bosses this week.

Of course, that is good news for Real Madrid and the other clubs involved in the race to sign Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund next summer.

It goes without saying that the race to sign Bellingham will be a tough one for Real Madrid, especially with the Premier League clubs believed to be open to offering a bigger transfer fee to Borussia Dortmund as well as higher wages to the player.

Of course, Real Madrid have a special pull themselves and come with almost a guarantee of competing for every title year after year. Thus, it will be interesting to see what the English midfielder decides when the time comes.

Of course, the transfer fee could be a major stumbling block for Real Madrid as well, as it looks like Borussia Dortmund could be looking for a figure close to €150 million in order to part ways with Bellingham.
