Al-Nassr made a huge splash in the footballing world recently by signing Cristiano Ronaldo. Such a move would have seemed absolutely impossible not too long ago but once again never say never in football. The Real Madrid legend has already made his competitive debut for the club and even featured in a glamour friendly against PSG, in which he scored a brace.

Thus, in the blink of an eye, Al-Nassr have become major players in football and have a lot of eyeballs on them. And it does not look like the club are satisfied with signing just Ronaldo.

It looks like they have their eyes on Luka Modric as well, whose current deal with Real Madrid runs out at the end of the season. And his future at Santiago Bernabeu appears to be up in the air.

As reported by Okaz (via Foot Mercato), the management of Al-Nassr has submitted a two-and-a-half-year contract, with a total salary of €40 million over the same period, to Modric.

It remains to be seen what the future holds for Modric and whether he ends up joining former teammate, Ronaldo, at Al-Nassr as well or not.

The initial expectation had been that Modric would end up extending his contract with Real Madrid, after how well the Croatian midfielder has been performing even at 37 years of age.

But things seem to have taken a turn in recent times and it looks like his performance levels on the pitch have dropped quite a bit after the World Cup as well. Is it possible that Modric could soon be on his way out of Real Madrid?

Stranger things have certainly happened in football. Modric is still very capable of playing at the very highest level though, as he has shown for Real Madrid this season itself and at the World Cup.
