Real Madrid have been linked with a long list of players in recent times, as the club need to bring in reinforcements in the summer. It is quite clear that this squad does not have enough depth to compete for every title. And we have already seen fatigue and injuries have an effect on their performances during two periods this season.

The club had made a blistering start to the campaign and were almost looking unstoppable, before their form fell off considerably before the World Cup break. And they made a sluggish start after the tournament as well, which has left them trailing Barcelona in the La Liga title race and they also lost to the Catalan giants in the Spanish Super Cup final.

Thus, it is clear that the club need to bring in more players. And while they are not expected to make any additions this month, the summer transfer window will hopefully be a completely different story.

Right-back is an area where they need to strengthen and if rumours are to be believed, one player that they have been keeping a close eye on is Pedro Porro of Sporting CP. The Spaniard has been one of the most prolific full-backs in the world this season. But there is some bad news for Real Madrid.

As reported by The Guardian, Tottenham Hotspur are closing in on Porro. Antonio Conte’s side failed with an offer on Wednesday morning but further talks are scheduled amid growing optimism that a deal can be finalised.

Porro is absolutely sensational going forward and might be exactly the type of player that Real Madrid need.

But it looks like Tottenham Hotspur could end up signing him, before Los Blancos even get a chance to make a move for the Spaniard next summer.
