Everton find themselves in a tough spot right now. They are trying to avoid relegation for the second season running. And while Frank Lampard did a great job in saving them from the drop last time around, the English manager has been shown the exit door recently, after the Toffees struggled under his management this season. And the Premier League club are now being linked with a move for one of Real Madrid’s coaches.

Davide Ancelotti might only be just 33 years of age, but he has already been at some of the biggest clubs on the planet. Other than Real Madrid, he has had coaching roles at Bayern Munich, Napoli and Everton, all teams his father has managed.

Thus, Ancelotti has no lack of experience when it comes to being at top clubs and might very well be ready to make the jump to management soon. And it appears that a move to Merseyside might possibly be on the cards.

Sean Dyche and Marcelo Bielsa are believed to be the frontrunners for the Everton job. But as reported by the Daily Mail (via Liverpool Echo), Davide Ancelotti has been discussed as an alternative.

Of course, Everton appointing someone like Ancelotti, who has never managed a club himself, would come as a surprise to many. After all, the Toffees are looking to avoid relegation.

But then, stranger things have happened in football. The fact that Ancelotti has already been at Everton and knows a lot of the squad, might work in his favour when considering candidates.

Ancelotti has been part of his father’s coaching team for a long time and thus, if he did leave in the middle of the season, that would be a major blow for Real Madrid though.

It remains to be seen what the future holds, but it seems much more likely that Everton would go for someone like Dyche or Bielsa over Ancelotti.
