Real Madrid have been relatively quiet in recent transfer windows, as they have moved away from their Galactico policy and focused mostly on signing youngsters, who have the potential to be world-class players in the future. This strategy has served them well too as they have been successful in bringing in players like Vinicius Jr, Rodrygo, Fede Valverde and Aurelien Tchouameni. They could be part of the team’s backbone for the next decade to come.

Next summer is expected to be a big one for Real Madrid, as they have been linked with several highly-rated names. One man appears to be the top of the wishlist though, Jude Bellingham.

Bellingham would fit the profile of a youngster as well as a Galactico at the same time. You do not come across a player of his quality often. At 19 years of age, he is amongst the best midfielders on the planet and has already captained a team like Borussia Dortmund.

Understandably, Real Madrid are not the only club believed to be interested in Bellingham. Liverpool are rumoured to be after his signature as well.

As reported by This Is Anfield, Gerrard said on BT Sport:

"“Liverpool are in the middle of the table, but I’m sure Jude’s bright enough to go ‘hang on a minute, there’s a stand going up here, it’s going to be a 60,000 stadium, they’ve got one of the best five managers in the world, they’ve won the Premier League of late, they’ve been in Champions League finals of late, they play very well here, they’ve got some fabulous players, they develop players’.”"

Gerrard also said:

"“All he needs to do is send his diary to me when he’s got a free day.“I’ll fly to Dortmund personally, take him out for a nice dinner, and we’ll talk about it!”"

Gerrard himself had been linked with a move to Real Madrid on multiple occasions during his playing career but ultimately stayed on at Liverpool.

It remains to be seen what the future holds for Bellingham. Other than Real Madrid and Liverpool, clubs like Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea are believed to hold an interest in his signature as well.

So, it is safe to say that he is not going to have a lack of options if or when he leaves Borussia Dortmund, even though it could take a transfer fee close to €150 million to sign him in the summer.
