This is a transitional phase for Real Madrid at this point of time. There is no doubt that they were the most successful team in Europe over the past decade, winning five Champions League titles during that period of time. A number of players who were part of that iconic team have now moved on though, while Los Blancos look for their next generation of heroes.

One man who had a role to play in that historical team was Isco. The Spaniard might not have been one of the faces of the club, but he certainly played his part during his nearly decade-long stay there.

Isco departed Real Madrid in the summer, but things have not been going his way since then. He had joined Sevilla but that deal was cut short. As a result, he finds himself without a club right now.

It had looked like he was set to join Union Berlin though, and it could have been a good move, with the Bundesliga side putting up a surprise title challenge right now. But unfortunately, Isco’s free transfer to Germany seems to have collapsed.

As tweeted out by Union Berlin, Oliver Ruhnert confirmed that the transfer for Isco will not take place.

So, it looks like Isco will remain without a club for the time being, and it remains to be seen what the future holds for the former Real Madrid star.

With Isco being just 30 years of age, not many would have expected him to face these struggles after leaving Real Madrid.

One can only wish Isco the best of luck and hopefully, he gets his career back on track as soon as possible. On his day, he is a fantastic player who can contribute to many clubs across Europe and beyond.
