Real Madrid face a massive run of games coming up next, which could make or break their season. Going into it, they are not in great form though. The club have been shaky in recent times. They have lost against Villarreal and Barcelona, and also drawn against Real Sociedad, after the World Cup break.

Things are not going to get any easier for them as we enter the business end of the season. And what has made matters even more difficult is the fact that several of their key players seem to be struggling with injuries.

One such player who got injured recently is Ferland Mendy, and it looks like he could be out of action for a while, which is especially bad news because Real Madrid do not have a lot of depth at left-back.

As reported by The Athletic, Mendy faces two months out injured. He suffered a thigh injury during the Copa del Rey match against Atletico Madrid.

The initial expectation was that Mendy would be out for around a month, but now, it looks like it will take longer for the Frenchman to recover from his injury.

On the other hand, Alaba has been struggling with injury problems recently as well but fortunately, he seems to be closing in on a return to the pitch soon, hopefully this midweek against Valencia.

With Real Madrid not having many options at left-back, perhaps it would have made sense for them to make a move for Fran Garcia this month itself. But the club have not.

Fortunately for them though, Eduardo Camavinga has emerged as an option there in recent weeks and with Mendy out, we can expect him to feature there often over the next couple of months.
