Luka Modric is without doubt an all-time Real Madrid legend and one of the greatest players ever. For years, he might not have been considered in that bracket, because it had been relatively late in his career that he arrived at Santiago Bernabeu but he has certainly made up for that with a decade filled with success and trophies.

Now though, he finds himself at a bit of a crossroads. Modric is 37 years of age and without doubt in the twilight of his storied career. And rumours have suggested that he has lucrative offers on the table to leave the Spanish capital and move abroad.

We have all heard the rumours surrounding a move to Al-Nassr, who recently got a deal done for Cristiano Ronaldo and seem to have big plans for their future. And the MLS is never far away, when it comes to superstars in the twilight of their careers.

But as reported by AS, Modric wants to continue one more year in Madrid and does not plan to negotiate with anyone or want to speculate with the offers that are coming to him in recent weeks.

Modric has taken his decision amid rumours linking him with a move away from Real Madrid

It must be pointed out that Modric is in the final six months of his contract with Real Madrid and as a result, many questions have been raised about his future.

It does look like Modric wants to remain at Real Madrid and continue playing at the highest level. But do the club want the same thing as well?

One would hope so. It is true that Modric’s form has been down in recent weeks. But one cannot forget how good he was in the first half of the season. Or the fact that he was one of the best players at the recent World Cup, as Croatia finished third at the tournament.
