Real Madrid have been linked with a lot of high profile names in recent times but most of them have been rising youngsters of the game like Jude Bellingham or Josko Gvardiol. But now, it looks like a well-established star of the game is interested in a move to Santiago Bernabeu next summer.
It was just last season that Bernardo Silva was being considered as one of the best players in the world and looking almost unstoppable when on top form. Things have not gone nearly as well for him this season.
His form has dipped and we have seen his playing time get reduced as well. It is worth remembering that he was linked with a move to Barcelona in the summer, but that failed to materialise. As things stand his current deal with Manchester City runs till the summer of 2025 and it looks like he wants to leave at the end of this season.
As reported by The Athletic (via SPORT), he wants to play in the Spanish league and will listen to Barcelona and Real Madrid.
Manchester City star wants to leave and is open to joining Real Madrid or Barcelona
At points in the summer, it looked like Barcelona were close to a move for Silva. Thus, if he was to leave Manchester City next summer, it feels more likely that he would end up at Camp Nou.
It is safe to say that it would take a significant transfer fee in order to sign him from Manchester City, and one has to wonder whether Real Madrid would be willing to shell that out on a player approaching 29 years of age.
The club have concentrated on signing the best young talents in the game in recent years and brought in well-established stars like David Alaba and Antonio Rudiger on free transfers.
