Several legendary players have represented both Manchester United and Real Madrid over the years. Some of the names that come to mind immediately are that of Cristiano Ronaldo, David Beckham, Raphael Varane, Angel Di Maria, Casemiro, Ruud van Nistelrooy and there have been several others.

In recent years, the trend has been to go from Real Madrid to Manchester United. Varane made the switch from Santiago Bernabeu to Old Trafford in 2021 and Casemiro made the same journey last summer.

Now, it looks like Manchester United have their eyes on another one of Real Madrid’s stars, but this time around, the club seem less likely to let him go. It is none other than Federico Valverde, who has emerged as an undisputed starter for Los Blancos this season.

As reported by El Nacional (via GOAL), Manchester United are ready to offer a transfer fee of €80 million for the services of Valverde. However, Real Madrid president Florentino Perez will not negotiate. The club do not want to let him leave.

Manchester United are ready to make blockbuster offer for Real Madrid star

Valverde emerged as one of Real Madrid’s most important players earlier this season and was scoring from distance in almost every game not too long ago.

It is safe to say that his form has taken a bit of a dip in recent weeks, after he looked like arguably the best midfielder on the planet early on in the campaign. But the Uruguayan international remains a very important part of this Real Madrid team.

It is almost important to point out that he is still just 24 years of age. Thus, unless an offer comes in that simply cannot be refused, it does not make much sense for Los Blancos to even consider letting Valverde leave. He is expected to be a centre-piece of this team for years to come.
